The Size Of My Phone Book Is Shrinking
May 20, 2009 on 5:16 am | By admin | In ReferenceI grew up in a small town and the white pages in our phone book was about twenty pages long. We had most of he numbers memorized and did not have to use the book that often. When I went away to school I discovered that we had a phone book that was almost three inches thick. Now that I am in business if I were to stack all the phone books for the cities I work in, the stack would be taller than I am. However, I have my phone book on the internet and with my cell phone I am back to the size of the book I grew up with.
Stick With What You Know
May 19, 2009 on 5:12 am | By admin | In ReferenceI am kind of curious as to how many copies of the phone book is printed out each year. I bet that goes through a lot of paper printing all those phone numbers. A way to save time from looking through all that paper is doing a search online for Phone books directory. You will find what you are looking for, and you can also get the number you want. It takes a quick second to type in the name of the number you want. Then hit enter and there you go. It is that simple. There are many people out there that don’t like to get on the Internet so they would just have to stick with the book.
Publish the Phone Book For Recycling?
May 18, 2009 on 3:12 pm | By admin | In ReferenceHow long will it be until we are no longer able to search the phone book? I mean, an actual physical, you can touch with your hands paper book. I think the time is coming very soon when the publishers of the phone book will determine that the majority of customers no longer go first to those paper copies. If it has not already come to pass! Everyone I know goes online when they want to find something. I immediately toss my book into recycling when it arrives on my doorstep. Do they keep it published for older people who don’t have computers?
Thankful For The Truth
May 16, 2009 on 5:58 am | By admin | In ReferenceI knew financially we could not afford for me to stay home after having my son, but I could not bear the idea of leaving him in daycare. My husband and I decided a nanny would be the way to go. We interviewed over 25 women before deciding on one. She had all the credentials and her references checked out. However, after a few weeks, we started seeing things that concerned us: little bruises on his wrist, an unexplained red spot. These issues were enough to lead us to check public criminal records for her name. We discovered that she had indeed been convicted of child endangerment. Thank God we learned the truth before our son was seriously injured!
Best Brain Foods?
May 16, 2009 on 5:12 am | By admin | In ReferenceWhat are the best brain food you can have in your diet? You may have heard that fish is good for the brain, and recent research confirm this. Eating fish not only speeds up the activity of your brain in the short-term, but it is also great for long-term brain health.
What about special brain supplements, like the ones occasionally advertised on television? There is evidence for some of them, but they are generally very expensive, and there is another option. A good multi-vitamin supplement may help your brainpower as much as these “special formulas.” In fact, those brain supplements often have many vitamins and minerals in them, and it may be these, more than the other ingredients, that are helping the most.

Are Entertainment Sites Entertaining
May 11, 2009 on 5:38 am | By admin | In ReferenceEntertainment shopping can, I suppose, be entertaining for some. It brings out the gambler in some people. But, to those adverse to taking risks then it probably isn’t for them. Weve got used to the likes of eBay, where bids are placed on items, and unless a reserve hasn’t been met, an item is then won. Unlike eBay, however, these new auction sites charge people for each and every bid they place. Now that can make bidding rather expensive, especially if you are not the eventual winner. The winner might end up with a low cost item of a high value, the auction site rakes in loads of money, but the losers end up with nothing.
