All American citizens have an obligation to conserve energy.  It’s not that difficult to take a few small steps to lower your bills for utilities.  It doesn’t even matter if you don’t own your own home.  Even if you rent, there are things you can do to make your home comfortable without breaking the bank to do it!   One thing that is being done in many homes today is to install a programmable thermostat.  This device works wonders to keep your home comfortable during the hours that you’re home.  And, it’s very affordable, costing less than $50.00.  Some utility companies have incentive programs to encourage people to install one.  They often give rebates to homes that have programmable thermostats and all it takes it notifying the company that you’ve done it.  Once you have the thermostat installed, it’s simply a matter of setting it appropriately.  Your monthly utility bills will go down and your pockets will be much, much fuller!
