First, the economy in the USA tanked (in case you hadn’t heard); then there was all sorts of negative publicity about narcotics-traffic-related murders (none of which occured in the tourist zones); and finally the H1N1 “swine flue” debacle which actually began in the USA but was credited in the press as having developed in Mexico. So resort destinations like Cancun Mexico have seen their visitor numbers drop like crazy, and they are anxious to woo us back. That means this winter the bargains are going to be spectacular for Mexican beach getaways.
